The North Fork is in the midst of an unseasonable warm autumn, which means more time for outdoor dining.

Make the most of the clear skies and sunny days by picking up a to-go order from one of our best lunch spots and having your mid-day meal overlooking our waters.

Here are five places to grab lunch and eat your meal in a nearby park.

Farm Country Kitchen and George Lindgren Schmelzer Riverfront Park

While certainly the smallest “park” on the list, George Lindgren Schmelzer Park on West Main Street in Riverhead offers a picnic table and a serene view of the Peconic River. Located adjacent to Farm Country Kitchen, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a speciality panini and relax for a bit for someone looking to avoid the lunch crowd inside the restaurant. You could also stop in while kayaking the river.
