The lunch specials at this downtown Riverhead Japanese food restaurant are some of the best in town.In this week’s edition of “What’s for lunch?” we recommend the sushi lunch special at Haiku Sushi on East Main Street. Two ($8.50) or three ($12) hand rolls of your choosing are served with either a miso soup or a salad.
We chose a tuna avocado roll, a spicy crunchy yellowfin roll and a sweet potato roll.
Music from the far east serenades diners in the restaurant which is decorated with Japanese touches like mini-kimonos. The large fish tank, exposed wood beams and clean, simple design help set the relaxing atmosphere.
The special is available dine-in or take-out.
