Calling all dancers, actors, performers and all those that enjoy theatrics. The Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association needs you to pack the streets donned in your best costume, chill the audience with spooky stories and thrill parades-goers during the first-ever Edgar Allan Poe Festival this Halloween season.

During the three-day family-oriented celebration, the streets of downtown Riverhead will be transformed into a dark and mysterious world, inhabited by street performers portraying Mr. Poe himself, as well as many of his infamous literary characters such as Lenore, Roderick Usher, Prince Prospero, Annabelle Lee and more.

So practice your vocals and brush off your old Halloween costume. Auditions and volunteer signups are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 3p.m. to 8p.m. at the Hyatt Place East End, located at 451 East Main Street in downtown Riverhead.

Edgar Allan Poe Festival runs from Oct. 31 thru Nov. 2.
