When we first tasted Roanoke Vineyards Bond 2012 at Petulant Wino earlier this summer, we were blown away by the smooth, berry-flavored, medium-bodied red blend.

And we couldn’t agree more with the vineyard more when they say “This is big wine at a small price.”

Crafted by Roanoke (and of course, Wolffer Estate Vineyard) winemaker Roman Roth, Bond is 72 percent merlot, with 17 percent cabernet franc, seven percent cabernet sauvignon and 2.6 petit verdot grapes.

Roanoke claims the third vintage of their blend is “the best ever” and we’re not arguing.

Roanoke Vineyards Bond 2012 ($19) is available at the Riverhead vineyard and the Love Lane tasting room. Get it before it’s gone.
