Winterlight by Katherine Liepe-Levinson.

View local waterways interpreted through the lens of two local photographers at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery and Studio exhibit “Pond Studies” this month.

Check out these beautiful studies of light reflecting on water at the Cutchogue gallery during the exhibit which runs through Aug. 31 and features East End and New York City-based photographers Katherine Liepe-Levinson and Nijole Kudirka as well as Ferrone.

The Lithuania-born Kudirka will show her photos of ponds and tide pools which were created in the encaustic method using rice paper and Liepe-Levinson will display her work which highlights the reflection of light off water’s glassy surface.

Join the artists for a free gallery talk followed by a light lunch on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. Reservations are required.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Suffolk County Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program, a non-profit mission dedicated to protecting local waters.

The exhibit is sponsored by Abatelli Realty & Appraisal Services.

Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery is located at 25425 Main Road in Cutchogue and can be reached at (631) 734-8545.
