Getting a bargain on handmade home decor, jewelry, organic coffees, teas and chocolate is a great way to spend a Friday afternoon in Greenport. It’s even better when your purchases go toward a worthy cause.
Eastern Long Island Hospital is welcoming World Village Fair Trade to Greenport Friday, Aug. 22. The mobile bazaar carries products made by artisans and growers from more than 25 impoverished countries. A portion of the proceeds from the market helps support orphans in sub-Sahara Africa and promotes the payment of fair wages throughout the world.
A portion of the sales also benefit ELIH.
The market is open this Friday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at ELIH, located at 201 Manor Place in Greenport.
