In this week’s edition of What’s For Lunch? we recommend Turkuaz Grill in downtown Riverhead.

Eat your authentic (and reasonably priced) Turkish meal inside the colorful dining room or have it outdoors while taking in a view of the Peconic River.

Our lunch pick is the falafel sandwich ($7.99). Falafel balls are served with lettuce, tomato and onion in a pita wrap with a side of yogurt sauce.

Popular appetizers at the downtown restaurant include hummus; babaganoush, charbroiled eggplant purée mixed with tahini, garlic and lemon juice; and Turkish cigars, thin dough rolled with feta cheese and parsley, then pan-fried.

Turkuaz Grill is located at 40 McDermott Ave. in Riverhead. It is closed on Tuesdays.
