Hampton Coffee Company has locations in Water Mill, Westhampton Beach and Southampton along with a Mercedes van that acts as a mobile espresso shop.

The flagship Water Mill store opened in 1994.

Hampton Coffee Company supports more than 100 different local charities, schools and organizations each year, according to its website.

“We are Long Island’s largest independent coffee roaster and retailer with several espresso bar and cafe locations, a mail order website and a custom-built Mobile Espresso-Unit — a Mercedes van with our entire espresso bar inside of it,” the website states.

The 963-square-foot building, which is currently vacant, and the half-acre lot it sits on are owned by Barbara Warner of Jamesport. Belkin is hoping to complete construction by mid-October, according to the application which is filed on behalf of North Fork Coffee Company.

Belkin would need a special permit to operate a cafe in the area which is zoned as a “rural corridor.”

Company representatives were preparing to meet before the Riverhead Town Board Thursday during a public work session.
