The Southold Historical Society will host three summer concerts at Horton Lighthouse in Southold over the season, ranging from an orchestra to a rock band to a solo keyboard performer.
The first concert will take place on Saturday, July 19 at 6 p.m., featuring Hidden City Orchestra. Hidden City is an improvisational orchestra made up of an “ever-shifting ensemble of musicians and instruments.”
On the other end of the musical spectrum, the rock band “The Crushing Violets” will be featured for the second concert on Saturday, July 26 at 6 p.m. The band is influenced by many different genres of music and the members, all from the Brooks family, are from Mattituck.
The final summer concert will feature Southold High School graduate Bill Roslak on keyboard along with vocal accompaniment on Saturday, August 16 at 6 p.m. Roslak studied organ performance and sacred music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. and recently appeared at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall as a tenor soloist and organist. Pieces from famous operas around the world will be performed.
All concerts will be held at Horton Lighthouse, located at 3575 Lighthouse Road in Southold. Bring your own chairs if you’d like to sit on the lighthouse lawn.
