What’s for lunch: Orient by the Sea

Considering its tables offer a panoramic waterfront view off the tip of the North Fork, this restaurant could serve an all-saltines menu and diners would still come.

In this week’s edition of “What’s For Lunch” we recommend Orient by the Sea in Orient.

Enjoy a seafood meal while waiting for the ferry, spending the day at Orient Beach State Park or after just taking a leisurely drive out east. Watch the seagulls scuttling along the beach and take in the views of the working marina.

We suggest the crab cakes. Two pan-fried crab cakes are served on a bed of greens with roasted red pepper aoili. Served with cole slaw and choice of fries or rice ($15.95)
