“Stand by Me” singer Ben King will grace the Suffolk Theater stage tonight.

In a rare Long Island appearance, the Grammy award-winning singer will belt out some his most popular hits such as “Under the Boardwalk” and “Up On The Roof.”

Considered one of the greatest voices of American music and an influential artist, King’s signature song “Stand By Me,” hit the Billboard Top 10 when it was released in 1961 and again in 1986 when the movie Rob Reiner-directed movie of the same name was released.

The song earned King a Grammy Legends award. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also named it one of the “Top 500 songs that shaped Rock & Roll.”

Stand by Me is just one of many hits that made King one of the most iconic voices of his time. With the classic soul group The Drifters, King sang hits such as Save the Last Dance for Me, This Magic Moment and There Goes My Baby.

His show at the Suffolk Theater begins at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 for patrons to enjoy the venue’s restaurant and bar.

An a la Carte menu will be available through out the evening.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online.
