It’s a hot summer day and you can’t decide if you want to sip on a cool refreshing mint mojito or relax with a pale ale.
Why not have the best of both worlds?
Moustache Brewing Co. will debut its new mojito pale ale with a release party at the Riverhead brewery Friday, June 20 from 3 to 8 p.m. Moustache will offer tastes, pints and growlers of the new beer which will be served for the first time.
Eat Me, Drink Me Food Truck will also be on hand serving tacos, burgers, fries and “key lime grilled cheese.”
Moustache co-owners, husband and wife team Matt and Lauri Spitz, have made home batches of the brew before, but this is the first time it will be commercially available.
Lauri Spitz said the pair got the idea to make it when deciding whether or not to drink a beer or the mint cocktail on a hot day. The result is a light pale ale with a heavy mint flavor and lighter lime tones.
“It’s brewed with fresh mint, fresh lime and lime zest,” she said. “And it’s all hand-picked.”
