With comfy couches, a flat screen TV, pool table, full bar and fire pit all in the common areas, you can tell from the moment you step into Cedar House on the Sound B&B‘s great room that this is a place to kick up your feet and let down your hair.
Offering a unique light and laid back atmosphere, Cedar House caters to a younger generation of visitors and locals looking for a mini-getaway, said owner David Perrin.
“For people looking to snuggle in bed at 8 p.m., this might not be the place for them,” he said.
In addition to the lively ambience, they have a vineyard on site. The B&B has been home to Scarola Vineyards‘ vines since 2011. Owners Frank and Donna Scarola, who are business partners with Perrin and his wife who is also-named Donna, have produced award-winning chardonnay, merlot and cabernets here on the North Fork.

Open since June 2010, Cedar House on Sound is a former potato barn that has been transformed into a rustic, yet chic, five- bedroom bed and breakfast.
The cozy country feel of the rooms no doubt comes from crafty rebuilt architectural elements such as reusing the original wood for ceiling beams.
The five bedrooms vary in price based on size, but all contain a private bath, central air conditioning, a 32-inch flat screen TV, free wi-fi access, iPod docking station, an alarm clock and radio, keyless coded door locks and high thread-count cotton sheets.

Veterans of the hospitality industry, the Perrins know a thing or two about making breakfast in style.
No traditional scrambled eggs and toast here, folks.
Each morning begins with seasonal fresh fruit, followed by Cedar House’s signature home fries and that day’s main course. Always looking for ways to shake things up in the morning, the main event could be anything from a sizzling cast iron skillet dish, to seasonal French toast to delectable silver dollar pancakes with a twist.
They B&B serves locally grown and produced ingredients – right down to the fresh herbs picked from their on-site garden.
After enjoying the day at the North Fork’s vineyards, restaurants and local shops, Cedar House’s common areas are a great place to unwind for the evening.
The 1,000-square-foot great room is the heart of Cedar House and a hub of activity featuring board games, a billiards table and a 52-inch flat screen TV.
And if you’re in the mood for a drink, just a few steps away is the B&B’s Vineyard Lounge which is stocked with their own Scarola Vineyards vintages.
With just under three acres of land, Cedar House offers a wonderful outdoor patio for lounging during the day or relaxing by the fire at night. The property is also home to three historic barns.
