Is 80 pounds of pig enough to fill your belly? Then come on down to First and South in Greenport as the restaurant resumes its weekly pig roasts on Monday, June 30.
For $45 guests get all-you-can eat pig and the choice of two salads (the offerings will rotate throughout the summer.) The restaurant will also pair with a local brewery and winery to offer wine and beer each week.
This is the first time the restaurant is offering the popular feast as a buffet, said First and South owner Sarah Phillips.
“Last year was great, but people always wanted seconds,” Phillips said.
Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. and Lieb Cellars will be pouring this week and the restaurant will have serve up two 40 pound pigs this Monday, Phillips said. WEHM 92.9 FM will broadcast from the restaurant this week.
Guest will also have the option of ordering off of the menu, which includes vegetarian options. Seating will be available both inside and outdoors.
“We set up the roast outside so you can see what’s going on,” Phillips said.
The roasts are scheduled to coincide with the weekly “Dances in the Park” in nearby Mitchell Park. The concerts kick off at 7:30 p.m. and the first one is set for July 7.
