Braun’s Seafood president and proud Rangers fan Ken Homan shows off a sample of what could be in the Governor’s gift basket.

All bets are on as the New York Rangers face the Los Angeles Kings in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals — and the Governors of the states are getting in the fun.

An interstate wager announced Tuesday could mean a lot of great New York-produced goods will be sent to California, including some North Fork shellfish.

Should the Rangers lose the best of seven series Governor Cuomo will owe California Governor Jerry Brown a Taste NY gift basket. The victory package is complete with 10 products from local businesses across the Empire State including fresh North Fork oysters from Braun’s Seafood Company in Cutchogue.

“I love being a part of the bet because I’m a Rangers fan,” said Braun president Ken Homan. “I’m honored to be picked to represent New York in general. We hope to feed some of these oysters to the Rangers when they win the Stanley Cup.”

The basket — which also includes New York produced wines, apples, chips, Italian sausage, maple syrup, buffalo wing sauce and red velvet cupcakes — definitely beats Gov. Brown’s victory reward, in our opinion.

Should the Kings fall, Gov. Cuomo gets the short end of the stick — he’ll receive a book titled “California: A History” by Kevin Star and Lumberg Organic Brown Rice Cakes, which are lightly salted.

“Given the tough, New York-resilient spirit with which the Rangers have advanced through the playoffs so far, I am wagering big on the Broadway Blueshirts with a Taste NY Basket of some of New York’s finest products,” Gov. Cuomo said in a statement Tuesday.

The New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings face off again on Saturday, June 7 at the Staples Center.
