The North Fork Promotion Council will kick off the 2014 summer season Saturday with Taste North Fork, a showcase of all the region has to offer.

The event runs from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Greenport Information Center at 72250 Main Road and features meet and greets and demonstrations with local chefs, farmers, innkeepers and winemakers.

Admission is free.

The schedule is as follows:

11:30 a.m. Farmer’s Setup

12 to 3 p.m. “Meet the Farmers”

12 to 5 p.m. “Meet the Innkeepers” of The North Fork Bed & Breakfast Association. Serving cookies, homemade treats and beverages as we do at our BnB’s and answering visitors’ questions as to what it is like to own, manage and stay in one of our inns.

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. “Meet the Winemaker’s” Matabella Vineyards Chris Tobin, Mark Tobin and Maryse Bransfield will be pouring a Summer Wine.

3 p.m. Dignitaries ceremony, Supervisor Scott Russell arrives

3p.m. to 5 p.m. “Meet the Local Businesses”

3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. “Meet the Chefs”

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Chef Deborah Rivera Pittorino from the Greenporter hotel serving signature blueberry cocktails

3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Chef Eric Schumaacher from the Blue Inn & Restaurant, scallop pairing

4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Chef Rosa Ross from Scrimshaw, vinaigrette & salad demo

Passed Hors d’oeuvre by Chef Noah Schwartz of Noah’s Restaurant
