Take a cruise aboard the Peconic Star II and relive a part of North Fork maritime history.

East End Seaport Museum is offering cruises to the Orient Long Beach Bar Lighthouse — or Bug Light as it is know in these parts — this weekend.

The tour begins at the seaport museum before patrons board the 15-minute cruise. Participants can explore the off-shore lighthouse, take photos and enjoy the panoramic vistas.

The replica lighthouse was built in 1990, nearly 30 years after vandals burned the original building to the ground.

The two-hour tour is narrated by local maritime history expert Ted Webb and Bob Allen, the grandson of the late William Follett, the last lighthouse keeper.

Tours will be held on May 24 and May 25  from 4 to 6 p.m. Registration is encouraged and spots can be reserved by visiting eastendseaport.org.

Rates are $35 for an adult, $30 for East End Seaport Museum members, Southold Town residents and military members and $25 for children under 18.
