Chowderfest is May 24 in New Suffolk. (file photo)

New Suffolk Waterfront Fund’s annual Chowderfest is back for its sixth year of delicious family fun to benefit a worthy cause.

The popular event will feature live music from “Who Are Those Guys,” locally prepared barbecue and, of course, chowder. As always there will be more than 50 varieties of perennial plants for sale — many not usually seen in the retail market — including deer resistant plants, groundcovers, natives, herbaceous and vines.

Hosted in partnership with the Peconic Land Trust, all proceeds go toward the restoration and revitalization of the New Suffolk Waterfront property.

Chowderfest and plant sale hours are from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the intersection of First Street and New Suffolk Ave., New Suffolk.

Tickets are $20 online at newsuffolkwaterfront.org or $25 at the door. Children younger than 12 years old eat for free.
