The inaugural Mattituck East End Famers Market Organizers kicked off on Mattituck’s Love Lane on Friday with a handful of North Fork-based merchants selling their handmade wares.

The market is open Fridays from 3 until 6 p.m. through October.
Kathleen Werner, owner of Scent Sense health and beauty products, makes aromatherapy treatments with lavender oil from France.
She recommends the lavender spray. A spritz on your pillow will relax you before bed, she said.
“It’s so versatile, I wear it like perfume,” she said. “It keeps me mellow.”

Ken Schneider, owner of the Cutchogue-based Really Good fruit spreads, recommends the mango jalapeno jam to liven up a chicken sandwich.
“Blend it with sour cream and cream cheese for a great dip,” he added.

Charissa, a homemade Morrocan spice made by Earl Fultz, 90, (yes 90!) of Cutchogue, comes in both mild and hot.
“Because it’s cumin based, it can go on any food. You can put it on meat, fish, chicken. You can scramble eggs with it. Anything dull,” he said.

Donna’s Treatery offers all-natural dog snacks for the pooch with a sensitive tummy or the owner who doesn’t want to give their pet highly processed food.
“I make everything myself,” said owner, Donna Burden of Mattituck. “I started doing this for my own dog (4-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Sophia) because she had stomach issues.”

Jeannie’s Treats was on hands to satisfy sweet tooths.
Jeannie Dohren of Mattituck makes her fresh Oreo, carrot cake and chocolate cupcakes at a commercial kitchen in Cutchogue.
