Maple Tree BBQ to offer ‘barbecue boot camp’ dinner

Calling all wannabe pit masters — Maple Tree BBQ in Riverhead is offering a barbecue boot camp to whip your grilling skills in shape for summer. 

Learn barbecue concepts like how to use the right tools for smoking and how to grill fruits while enjoying a delicious meal during the June 12 dinner. The event starts at 7 p.m.

The four course dinner includes pairings with wine and hard cider like True Companion hard cider served with smoked wings and Cajun mussels and grilled pineapple and banana served alongside Long Ireland Celtic Ale.

Plus, it’s good practice for the Stotzky Park barbecue competition which is in the works for late August.

The dinner is $38 per person. Please call 631-727-2819 for reservations.
