Tribeca Film Festival Drive-In Photograph: Kevin Tachman/Tribeca Film Festival

What to do while the kids are on break, other than pull your hair out.Yes, when the kids are old enough to walk, talk and tell you what to do … it can most certainly feel like you are being pecked to death by little chickens.

Well here are some fun things to do for them and you. Hit Manhattan!

• The American Museum of Natural History is always a favorite and then you can eat at Isabella’s, a definite must.

Tribecca Film Festival Drive Ins are also worth checking out: tonight is “Mary Poppins” and Friday they’re screening “Splash.” The programs start at 6 p.m., with the screenings beginning at 8:15 p.m.

• A trip across the river to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is another kid favorite. It’s spectacular and loads of fun.

• I’d also recommend checking out Time Out New York if you need ideas for things to do in NYC. They even published a blog post this week on this very topic.
