His characters have held a watch up their ass for two years, called for more cowbell, played Russian roulette in Vietnam and blown red lights en route to driving Woody Allen to the airport. Now iconic actor Christopher Walken can add something else to his resumé: he has filmed in Riverhead.
The Academy Award winner was on the set of “When I Live My Life Over Again” Monday, when the film was shot at Temple Israel on Northville Turnpike.
A few local residents chosen to be extras were lucky enough to make it into a scene with the 71-year-old film legend.
“I stood right next to him,” said Shelia Muller of Aquebogue. “They did a lot of takes, over and over again. It was interesting.”
“The man just glides. He’s so light on his feet,” she said. “I had asked him if he would ever consider going on Dancing With the Stars and he said ‘no, although I hear they pay pretty well … he was very pleasant.”
Production staff said they will be shooting another scene in the area sometime next week, but did not comment on specifics. A number of scenes are also being shot across the the South Fork.
According to IMDB, actress Amber Heard, who is engaged to Johnny Depp, is also starring in the film, though it was unclear whether she was at the Riverhead shoot.
