A new eatery will be opening up shop in coming weeks in the space that formerly held Pagano’s Little Italian Place.

Bryan Villanti will be launching Vino N’ Vittles at 110 Front St., offering local wines and full menu ranging from scallops to shrimp scampi to burgers.

Mr. Villanti said he’s currently contracting with Premium Wine Group in Mattituck to ferment his own wine — Vino Villanti — and plans to use the space as a tasting room of sorts as well for his own brand.

The opening won’t be his first foray into food: the East Marion resident said he’s run bagel shops in the past, though he notes — partly with a laugh, as he recently retired — that his more recent entrance into “restaurant prison” comes as a tribute to his mother, who worked in the dining room at Old Westbury Golf & Country Club as he was growing up.

Mr. Villanti said he hopes to be open by early May.
