Little New Suffolk made a historic run. But the tiny hamlet came up just short against No. 1 seed Greenport this week.
The Final Four is now set in the Game of Hamlets and voting has already begun.
The only upset in the second round was No. 2 seed Orient with 59 percent of the vote defeating No. 1 Shelter Island, the only top seed to not advance.
Orient will now face another No. 1 seed in Riverhead in one semifinal. The other matchup pits Greenport against No. 1 Mattituck, which blew out Jamesport with 62 percent of the vote.
The closest matchup of Round 2 was Greenport, which many folks are predicting will win it all, barely edging New Suffolk, where many folks in the community were rallying for support this week.
