If you’re like me, you rarely remember to bring home that growler you brought to your friend’s backyard barbecue. You just hope he’ll fill it up with a local craft beer one day and bring it back to you (rather than roll up with a 12-pack of Bud).

The Hydro Flask at Crooked Ladder is the type of growler you don’t leave behind.

A 64-ounce stainless steel, double-wall vacuum insulated thermal slice of heaven, the Hydro Flask makes a great gift for the beer lover in your life.

Essentially a thermos and a growler in one, the hydroflask is said to keep beer cold for up to eight hours, even on a hot day.

It sells for $65, but refills are $15, same as a glass growler at the downtown Riverhead brewery. At that price, it’s not exactly the economy drinker’s cup of hops, but it makes for a serious Father’s Day, birthday or Christmas gift.
