The Jamesport Country Store offers lots of products unique to the North Fork, but it’s a product that’s unique ON the North Fork that caught our attention this weekend.

As it has in the past, the store is again selling retro German paper mache eggs this Easter season. Jamesport Country Store owner Howie Waldman said the eggs and the store’s jelly beans are particularly popular this time of year.

“The eggs are unique,” he said. “We have a source, but they’re hard to find otherwise.”

The smaller eggs sell for $6.99 and the larger eggs are $22.95.

Now is a good time to stop by the store, currently in its 41st year and open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter. They’re currently running a cabin fever sale with 20 percent or more off on most products in the store (consignment items and certain artisan products excluded.)

If the unique exterior of the Jamesport Country Store hasn’t been reason enough to make you stop in the Main Road mainstay, maybe this rare find is this reason this Easter season. (map it!)
