Entries are sought for East End Arts’ third annual national juried art competition and exhibit, “The Creative Process.” The show will run Aug. 8 to Sept. 24 at the Riverhead gallery.

Guest jurors are Gerald Peters, owner of Gerald Peters Gallery in  New York and Santa Fe, N.M., and Peter Marcelle, director of Mr. Peters’ New York gallery and a Bridgehampton gallery owner.

East End Arts gallery director Jane Kirkwood said in a press release that, while not mandatory, an artist “may choose to leave part of your piece unfinished to give a peek into your personal artistic process, a hint of how your work evolves.”

Artwork may be in any two-dimensional media, including painting, drawing, original fine art prints, photography and computer art. Original work only; no reproductions or “appropriated” items unless they are credited. Entries will be accepted online until April 8. The fee is $45 for up to five entries per artist. Late submissions (by April 15) will be charged an additional fee.

The best in show winner will receive a seven-day stay in the EEA artist residence, $1,000 cash and inclusion in a group show at the Peter Marcelle Project in Southampton.
