Long Ireland Brewing Company and Long Island Spirits are joining forces for a craft beer aged in whiskey barrels — a joint venture that will lead to one heck of a party this weekend. After months of aging their different craft brews in the barrels, the kegs are filled and ready to be tapped. The first tasting will be held Friday.
Greg Martin, brewer and co-founder of Long Ireland, said customers can expect a warm, vanilla twist on their old favorites like the Breakfast Stout and Celtic Ale.
The party goes from Friday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. through 6 p.m Sunday, Feb. 23 at the brewery, located at 817 Pulaski St, Riverhead. (map it)
