The Coen Bros. “Inside Llewyn Davis,” which features scenes filmed in Riverhead, may have been one of the Academy’s biggest snubs when the nominations were announced Thursday morning. But one of the two nominations the film did receive was for best cinematography.

We can’t help but feel a little sense of pride this morning knowing that scenes from our community have been honored.

Here’s to hoping “Inside Llewyn Davis” cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel wins the Oscar March 2.

Eagle-eyed viewers can spot two of the Riverhead scenes in the film’s trailer when the main character loiters outside a gas station (film crews had turned an old potato barn into the set).

(You can watch the full trailer here. Warning: the trailer has been rated R for strong language and sexual references. Or just go see the movie.
