CYNDI MURRAY PHOTO | The Red Eye Lucio at The Riverhead Project is a great drink to warm up your winter night.

Made with Tabasco sauce and tequila, The Riverhead Project’s Red Eye Lucio is a spicy beverage to shake the winter blues.

Served in a martini glass with a salted rim, the cocktail is made with freshly squeeze lime juice, agave, top shelf tequila and a few dashes of tabasco sauce.

Bartender Anthony Forte shared the recipe with NorthForker.com so you can try to whip up this winter warmer yourself.

The Riverhead Project’s Red Eye Lucio

.75 oz. of lime juice

.75 oz. of agave

3 dashes of tabasco sauce

2 oz. of Reposado tequila

Shake well, pour into a salted martini and top with two or three more dashes of tabasco sauce and you, my friend, have a Red Eye Lucio.

*Pro tip: TRP uses Reposado tequila, but Mr. Forte said you can use your favorite type and still get the same result.
