It gets dark by 5 p.m. and the weather may be less than cozy, but winter isn’t all bad. Case in point: Crooked Ladder Brewing Company’s newly released Winter Ale.

Now on tap at the brewery’s tasting room and area restaurants like Digger’s, the ale is a great way to keep warm this winter.

At 7% alcohol, the malt forward beer is stronger than any of the brews currently on tap at the brewery’s downtown Riverhead location.

The malt is balanced out with the slightest taste of hops, giving it its rich golden reddish coloring — a delicious way to warm up on a chilly North Fork day.

Crooked Ladder Brewing Company is located at 70 West Main Street in Riverhead.
