Jamesport Vineyards is planning on keeping the winter months groovin’ with a “Hometown Music Hour” every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting this Sunday, Dec. 15., a featured artist will perform before opening up the mic to local area performs to take over.

Blues singer and songwriter Rob Europe is scheduled to open up this weekend’s show.

Also known as Winter Sundays, guests can enjoy the live music along with a number of other specials.

The winery is running a “Seasons Giving” promotion, collecting nonperishable items to donate to local families in need. Guests who bring in nonperishable items will receive a “Holiday Flight” for free – a $10 flight featuring a Cinq Blanc, Sidor Reserve, and its Late Harvest Riesling.

Guests who make any purchase at the vineyard will also receive a snowflake, which they can use for reduced tastings and bottle purchases at Palmer Vineyards.

Palmer guests will also receive snowflakes to use for discounted purchases at Jamesport Vineyards, a new promotion called “Let It Snow” offered by the two wineries.

“We want to do something for the locals,” said Jamesport’s assistant manager Meghan Cereola. “The crowds are gone now, so they can really enjoy what their town is all about.”

Performers taking part in the open mic will also receive a free glass of wine, Ms. Cereola said.
