Local cyclists are invited to participate in a Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The routes end at Greenport Skate Park on Moore’s Lane.
Non-riders may do a 5K walk.
All cyclists must bring a bicycle, helmet and water bottle.
The ride is held in honor of Shelter Island native Joseph Theinert, who was killed in Afghanistan on June 4, 2010.
Fees range from $25 to $50.
Registration closes at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 and can be done online.
