Hops farmers John Condzella and Justin Wesnofske joined Long Island Beer Company co-owners Greg Martin and Dan Burke in the Pulaski Street brewery Friday evening for the Long Ireland’s Wet Hop Release & Hop Farm Benefit.

Long Ireland Beer Company along with Greenport Harbor Brewing Company  teamed up with John Condzella (Condzella’s Farms) and Justin Wesnofske (Wesnofske Farms) to use fresh hops for a new brew.

The brewers donated all the money raised from beer sales Friday night directly back to the two farms.

John Condzella harvested 800 lbs. from one acre (with plans for an additional acre next spring) of hops this season with his newly purchased German harvester, the Wolf WHE 140 Hopfen Pfluckmachine. It has been renamed by a couple who blogs at beerlovescompany.com, Alisha and Kevin, who donated to Condzella’s Kickstarter campaign to buy it. They named it Beer Loves Company Plus Hops.

Long Ireland’s Martin and Burke said they hoped to raise $1,000 at Friday’s Wet Hop Release & Hop Farm Benefit.
