share fundraiser peconic community school golden earthworm

The Peconic Community School will hold their second annual “Share” fundraiser and cocktail reception this Sunday, August 11. The event will be held at The Golden Earthworm Organic Farm from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature drinks, live music, light farm fare and a live auction.

Items up for auction include a round of golf for four at the famous Sebonack golf club, as well as gift certificates to various restaurants from Manhattan to Mohegan Sun.

Live music will be performed by local band Soul Jazz Train Express. Food will be provided by local chefs Michael Meenan of H20 Seafood Grill, Lia Fallon of The Riverhead Project, Todd Jacobs of Fresh Hamptons and Noah Schwartz of Noah’s. Other vendors supporting the event include Blind Bat Brewery, Jamesport Vineyards, Shinn Estate Vineyards and Catapano Dairy Farm.

Special guest speaker Lea Abrams has been an educator for thirty years and began as a holistic health educator creating programs for schools, health centers and non-profits while exploring eastern modalities of mindfulness work. This past year Abrams has been an educational adviser for the Peconic Community School.

Proceeds will contribute to the Peconic Community School, which was founded in September of 2012 after several members of the community came together to found North Fork Education Initiative, a nonprofit organization that works to build a local independent school and to create awareness and opportunities around alternative education in the community.

Tickets are available for purchase online.
