A new exhibit called Photo-Technic will run from August 16 through September 22 at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery & Studio in Cutchogue. An Artists’ Reception will be held Friday, August 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. with wines provided by Macari Vineyards.

Photo-Technic features the work of different photographic techniques from two talented photographers, Dave Burns and Gerry Giliberti.

Dave Burns is an award-winning photographer and member of the East End Photographers Group who specializes in wildlife, travel, landscape photography, and has photographically chronicled his travel experiences from more than 25 countries.  Burns currently uses digital photography, and experiments with different technologies and approaches to achieve unpredictable tones and dream-like effects. This show will exhibit Burns’ infrared images of Serengeti wildlife and landscapes from his safaris in Tanzania.

Gerry Giliberti is a print-based photographic artist and member of the East End Photographers Group, East Hampton Art Alliance and Southampton Artists Association who uses graphics, photography, sculpture and digital imagery to create abstract, surrealistic images and constructions that bring the viewer into a new visual world. Giliberti’s classical fine arts training laid the foundation for his unique ability to see simple images among complex textures. Giliberti will be exhibiting prints of still life and flora created with the alternative processes of Lumen and Solar Plate Printing.

In addition to the August 16 reception, join the two artists on Sunday, September 8 at 11 a.m. for a Gallery Talk to hear the discussion on their techniques.
