Love Lane Market is certainly not your average pizzeria. It’s best known for its fresh, organic products and sandwiches, but is also making quite a splash with its wood fired pizzas.

Business at the popular Mattituck grocery store and eatery came to a halt in October 2012 when Sandy severely damaged the market.  Since it’s reopening in July, the pizza business has “exploded,” according to chef Rino Schiano.

“It’s just getting busier and busier with the pizza,” he said.

Everything about the pizza is fresh starting with the handmade dough made with super fine flour imported from Italy.

It’s an overnight process to make the self-rising dough and is so unique only fellow Love Lane Market chef Dillon Cassidy knows the recipe. Each evening he makes enough dough to meet the daily demand—roughly 80 pies a day!

The pizzas are topped with hand-crushed tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and greens.

The market serves three types of pizza: Margherita, Summer Margherita and Moroccan duck that is made with fresh local duck.

Love Lane Market is located at 170 Love Lane in Mattituck and can be reached at (631) 298-2200. For more northforker articles about Love Lane Market, click here.
