Don’t be fooled by the name, this mojito-like cocktail from The All Star in Riverhead is refreshingly cool, and doesn’t have too much of a bite.
Although it is made with gin, many customers don’t realize it, said Inga Burkauskierie, who has been bartending at the activity center since it opened in September.
“It is pretty popular,” she said. “And very delicious.”
The drink is a fun spin on a mojito, with cucumber thrown into the mix.
Riverhead Rattlesnake
Fresh chopped cucumber
Fresh mint leaves
A bit of simple syrup
Muddle together
Add ice
1 ½ oz. mango nectar
2 oz. Bombay Sapphire or a gin of your choice
Fresh line juice
Shake and serve.
