Every Wednesday night starting at 6 p.m., sailors from Greenport and Cutchogue participate in a friendly race around Robin’s Island, and usually head to Legend’s Restaurant in New Suffolk afterwards for a drink to celebrate. This Wednesday, July 3, the celebration is starting a bit early with a waterfront BBQ!

On the night before Independence Day head over to New Suffolk Waterfront between First and Main Street for a picnic dinner on the sand. Members of the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund will be grilling up burgers, hot dogs, sausages and veggie burgers. For only five bucks enjoy one of the food items along with all of the fixings, chips, and water. Soda is available for additional purchase.

It’s BYOB for alcoholic drinks and though there are a few picnic tables, bringing beach chairs and/or blankets for seating is suggested.

So this Wednesday night sit back, relax, and enjoy yummy beach food while watching the crisp, white sails move through the water with the whole family.
