On Wednesday evening the Town of Southold’s annual Summer Showcase Concert Series kicks off when the Park Avenue Gypsies and Southold Slim take the stage at Silversmith Corner on Main Rd.
The free weekly concert and arts series is a non-profit program that presents different artists and genres of music on the town lawn in Southold every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. The program relies on small grants and the generosity of community members in order to provide this entertainment free of charge.
The Park Avenue Gypsies featuring Southold Slim will kick-off the event, where they will play Tin Pan Alley standards, hot jazz, blues and western swing.
The series runs through the end of August and local artists can inquire about participating in next year’s event. Most artists are selected by the end of fall or by early winter.
For more information you can call the events coordinator A.D. Newcomer at (631) 208-6933 or by e-mail at [email protected].
