Opt out of watching the Tony awards from the couch in your pajamas this year. Instead, head to The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead to enjoy a simulcast of the awards and live entertainment with Tony trivia and musical performances of Broadway classics.

The event, starting at 7 p.m. tonight (Sunday June 9) is going to be hosted by Laurence Maslon and Bob Spiotto. Maslon is the Associate Chair/Associate Arts Professor at the Graduate Acting Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is also the host and producer of the weekly radio series Broadway to Mainstreet, a best-selling author and a concert and program writer.

Before and throughout the screening there will be performances by some of the East End’s best musical talent of songs from Tony winning musicals from 1947 to 2012.

There will also be a special Tony award-winning guest, Trent Kawalik of Billy Elliot.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 E Main Street, Riverhead.
