Want to learn about the area’s feathered friends?

Enjoy the natural beauty of the North Fork’s bird population while watching the sunset over the Long Island Sound tomorrow (Tuesday June 18). Join Tom Damiani, a birding expert with 35 years experience, for a free informational nesting bird walk thorough the trails at Inlet Pond County Park in Greenport at 7 p.m.

Sponsored by the North Fork Audubon Society, “Tuesdays with Tom” has taken place at different North Fork locations the third Tuesday of every month during the summer for the past 18 years. The event starts at the Red House with a short presentation on the nesting birds of Inlet Pond Park. After that you hit the trails to see and hear some of the birds Damiani pointed out in the lesson, like warblers, vireos and flycatchers.

The walk ends at Sound Beach to get a glimpse of the sunset. The event takes about 2 hours, Damiani said.

Please call 631 275-3202 or email  Tom at [email protected] to register.
