Stuart Feldschuh of Hampton Bays has owned the Snowflake Ice Cream stand on West Main Street in Riverhead since 1988.
The popular eatery churns out yummy flavors including a “flavor of the week,” which is either of his own design or more often one suggested by a customer. Each customer whose flavor is chosen are presented with a t-shirt.
This week the special flavor is strawberry rhubarb with the fruits sourced from Briermere Farms in Riverhead. Feldschuh said he will continue to feature it until the crop peters out. After that he will get local blueberries and then peaches and so on. He also uses the local fruits on his sundaes.
