Harbes Family Farm is the place to bring the kids, especially this weekend. The Mattituck farm offers delights including fresh roasted corn and a full “Barnyard Adventure,” fit for kids, teens and adults alike.
This weekend, the farm will offer a singing hayride, where passengers can tour farm grounds and a pumpkin patch. Children can feed different types of animals, from pigs to bunnies, and get a look at newborn chicks and baby goats. There will also be a demonstration of boarder collies herding sheep on farm grounds.
A pedal cart track, bounce house, and hedge maze will keep kids busy, while adults enjoy live music and wine tasting. This Memorial Day weekend, the vineyard will be debuting their 2010 Hallock Lane merlot.
Until its “super sweet corn” is ready to be harvested in early July, Harbes is shipping up fresh corn from Georgia, ready to be roasted and doused with melted butter.
