Joe’s Garage & Grill is under construction and won’t open its doors on Peconic Avenue in Riverhead until July, but until then, you can get a first look at exclusive photos of the car-themed restaurant.

Eddie G, the restaurant’s executive chef, said Wednesday that the casual-style eatery will seat 189 people indoors and on a heated outdoor patio. Instead of windows, the restaurant has glass garage doors that open up.

The restaurant also features a large bar with a toy race track on the ceiling that customers will be able to control.

“People can throw a coin at the wall, which will have a bull’s eye,” Mr. G. said. “When the coin hits the bull’s eye, the cars will race each other.”

Additionally, Joe’s Garage & Grill has an indoor garage lift that Mr. G. said will be used to raise local bands and live entertainment off the floor. Sixteen 62-inch high definition televisions will also be purchased.

The casual-style eatery will serve popular American fare like burgers and wings in addition to local wine and beer. Live music is also in the works, according to Joe’s Garage & Grill’s Facebook fan page.

Joe’s Garage is located under the Summerwind apartment complex, which is still under construction. Developer Ray Dickhoff said the apartments are slated to open the same time as the restaurant.
