Why run any old 5K when you can down and dirty in mud?

About 800 runners descended on Calverton Saturday to brave chilly temperatures and rain for the Long Island Adventure Race.

The race featured numerous obstacles like a water slide, a dumpster filled with water, a pool filled with soapy water — in which they had to find two golf balls — as well as other, more traditional obstacles, like a wall climb. Read more at the Riverhead News-Review.
