For this week’s “One minute on the North Fork” we filmed along the Peconic River on a cool afternoon Thursday near downtown Riverhead.
A view from atop the Route 105 bridge looking east offers a view to the left of Indian Island Park. It was a quiet day as winter winds down.

Last month we filmed a segment of this series during a sunset at Downs Creek in Cutchogue. This week, we returned to the area to capture the beauty of Downs Farm Preserve in daylight.
The 51-acre property is a former Native American fort site featuring scenic woodlands and the creek, which serves as its eastern boundary.

Yes, we know Wading River is not the North Fork. And we know only a portion of the duck ponds is even in Riverhead Town.
