Sour cherries picked off the tree, gooey ice cream sandwiches, bottles of pale ale— summer is the time to fill your diet with delectable North Fork treats.

But as much as we want to pretend the end of summer isn’t coming, the days are getting shorter and with them the chance to savor some of our favorite seasonal foods.

For some people, rosé is strictly seasonal . You start drinking it around Memorial Day and by Tumbleweed Tuesday (the day after Labor Day), you’re done. But you’ll also find some rosé-obsessed folks who drink it year round. (more…)

Calynne Daley, baker and creator of Cakes by Calynne, has introduced a new way to enjoy a popular summer beverage.

Her rosé cupcakes have been a big hit at Osprey’s Dominion in Peconic, where she sells around 400 each weekend.

“Rosé is so popular right now, it was kind of like a no-brainer,” Ms. Daley, 27, said.

She began Cakes by Calynne in 2011 and started working in 2013 at the winery, selling cupcakes in its tasting room. (more…)
