Make a resolution to get your male dog or cat neutered during Kent Animal Shelter’s “Happy Neuter Year” campaign, which runs all through January.

It only costs $20 for the procedure, which helps prevent unwanted litters and reduces the homeless pet population. Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to control the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight to ten weeks old, according to theĀ American Veterinary Medical Association.
