Modeled after the great Alive After Five in Patchogue, the four-date Alive on 25 series, launched by the Riverhead Downtown Business Improvement District, begins next Thursday, July 14.

The street fair will continue with food, drinks, music and more in downtown Riverhead every other Thursday through August, alternating with Alive After Five, which kicked off in Patchogue last night.

Our friends at greaterpatchogue.com and bennymigsphoto.com covered the first Alive After Five of the season Thursday and shared with us their photos and a time-lapse video to give readers on the North Fork who have never ventured out to the Patchogue event a bit of the flavor.  (more…)

Imagine thousands of people filling the streets of downtown Riverhead, enjoying ice-cold beers and listening to music on a balmy summer’s evening.

It could happen if the Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association’s plans to host evening street fairs on multiple Thursdays this summer come to fruition. (more…)

Entourage

Everybody loves wine tasting on the North Fork — including “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly, who stopped by Sparkling Pointe Winery this past Friday afternoon.

The 41-year old TV and film star, who originally hails from Patchogue, was in town for a wedding and decided to visit the Southold tasting room with his own entourage of about 10 friends. (more…)

Downtown Patchogue ain’t what it used to be.

Having not been to the village for dinner in more than a year, I was surprised when on a recent Wednesday night I had trouble locating a parking spot and found myself on a 20-minute wait list at the recently opened dining hotspot “That Meetball Place.” (more…)

Great South Bay Music Festival

In the 7 years since its inaugural show in 2007, The Great South Bay Music Festival has cemented itself as Long Island’s biggest and best music event of the summer. Past headliners such as MOE, The Mickey Hart Band, Hot Tuna, Umphrey’s McGee, the late-great Ritchie Havens, Eddie Money and just about every local band you’ve ever heard or seen have come to the South Shore and rocked for thousands of Long Island music fans.
